Job Description

One of our clients in the Southside area of Jacksonville, FL area has an immediate need for an Instructional Designer.  The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
High Level Project Description
Design, develop and implement courseware to support the client's training initiatives by applying appropriate instructional design methods and industry standards to the instructor led and e-learning.
Scope of Responsibility
  • Create course content in collaboration with project team to produce scripting, storyboards and instructor led training
  • Utilize eLearning development tools to develop interactive online classes, inclusive of recording and editing audio, video, and other interactive elements to create a consistent, error-free learning experience
  • Develop and maintain interactive training materials that incorporate technology and adult learning theory to broaden appeal of learning solutions, e.g., Web 2.0, audio, video, educational games, animations, and simulations
  • Develop relevant activities (e.g., case studies, role plays) to maximize learners’ knowledge and skills development and transfer this back on the job
  • Develop effective, interactive, learner-centric training solutions, mapped to learning outcomes
  • Conduct independent research to augment and enhance course materials based on the most up-to-date learning research
  • Ability to aid the entire lifecycle from analyzing, planning, design, development, storyboarding, recording, editing, deployment  and evaluate of the learning solution
  • Publish SCORM-compliant eLearning to be delivered and work peers to test and troubleshoot all courses
  • Conduct mapping of course learning objectives to Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes (KSA) for role-based curriculum
  • Develop and adhere to time estimates and schedules for developing learning solutions and other tasks
  • Additional duties as assigned
Min Years of Experience/Education
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a learning content developer
  • At least three years’ experience designing and developing instructional strategies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design/Distance Learning, Multi-Media, Computer Science, Adult Education, or related field
Mandatory Skills Needed:  
  • Technical writing/platform training experience
  • Demonstrated expertise using content management software, specifically Articulate Storyline and Captivate eLearning authoring tools
  • Demonstrated expertise designing and developing training that builds performance and skill
  • Adult learning expertise to design solid, professional materials that achieve learning outcomes and creatively appeal to diverse learner types
  • Background and proven skills in graphic design
  • Digital Media Portfolio required with application
Desirable Skills:
  • Learning and Instructional Design Certificate
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, learner-centric learning solutions
  • Proven background translating technical content into digestible information
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS)
Technical Skill:
  • Strong knowledge and ability with eLearning authoring tools, such as Captivate, Articulate, Camtasia
  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Demonstrated use of Web 2.0 tools into professional training solutions
  • Basic knowledge of HTML
  • Knowledge of Microsoft suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Knowledge of uPerform, UPK, or similar tools
